Day 300: Transportation
There are four main forms of transportation in NYC: walking, taxi, subway, and bus. None of these are particularly easy but driving a car in those streets would be a wreck waiting to happen especially for your standard suburban resident. Walking is a great option but there is SOOO much of it. Even though it's just a few blocks at a time it adds up. I'm sure we could've taken the subway more than we did but it would be too easy to get lost on it. Busses are just as confusing and there are so many stops that you're just stuck waiting for a six dollar ride. Taxi is the easiest way. They are readily available and searching for people needing a ride because they want business. I was worried about not being able to hail a cab but it's really quite easy. Aggressively stick your arm out in the road and keep it out till a car with the light on pulls up. It's as easy as NYC.
