If there is anyone who is not familiar with the ALS or Lou Gehrig's disease ice bucket challenge, here is what it's about. People are challenged to pour ice water on themselves or donate money and then challenge others to donate or do the water thing within 24 hours. Sounds stupid and dangerous, right? Wrong. The first thing I thought is please stop blowing up my news feed with your random videos, but then I realized, the insane trend is working. People are truly raising awareness about this dangerous disease. There are trends out there for other diseases too like cancer and Parkinson's. There may even be one for epilepsy. It makes me proud to live in a world where we have technology and social media to make people knowledgeable about medical problems. If trends like these continue and help other causes, we can change the world. I'm broke and don't want to risk a seizure from cooling shock so will make my blog my awareness raising. We can make a difference. So, I dare you to go and tackle a dangerous disease not by fighting it but by making people aware that we can do something about these deadly or damaging disasters.
