Day 83: Monster Cravings

Being home for me has felt as new as a woman's first pregnancy. I crave the most bizarre food. It's not actually that the cravings are strange like pickles and ice cream but it's cravings that are specific to the area. For example, I craved Moe's instantly as well as Frontera. Both are Mexican places that don't exist there. I also craved Pizza Hut and Totinos pizza. The former is not up there and the latter, while it's available in all grocery store freezer sections, mom cooked it a lot for me, and it's very homely comforting to me as a welcome home snack. Outback and Waffle House were two places I had to visit because they were my Cheers places before I left. Everyone knew my name and vice versa. While I only have a few more days in conyers I type this craving a monster biscuit from Hardee's. It's basically every morning protein (ham, bacon, sausage, and egg) on a biscuit with cheese between each protein layer. Hopefully, I can convince mom to get it. It's amazing that you can literally crave your hometown. You miss your friends and family, but you even miss the food of where you grow up. Perkins was excellent, and unfortunately there isn't one here. However, I was able to return to a lot of special restaurants and satisfy my monster cravings. But before breakfast, I must sleep. Hopefully, the trend can continue a third night because last night I slept great. So with that I say goodnight and in a few hours Bon Appetít!
