I am in disbelief as to the situation that I was informed of today and will deal with in the days to come. I am shocked by what is happening. I am still awake because I can't stop thinking about this horrible scenario. I don't know what to say so I will just stop writing.

Day 66: Only One Week
This summer has flown by so fast because in just one week I will be on the road to come back home. I will visit for a couple of weeks and then I'll start classes. Whoever said time flies when you're having fun was definitely correct. I have made friends, learned a lot, had a ton of fun, and started a great set of college adventures. It's a bittersweet time because I will miss the SSMT 2014 experience. However, I'm excited to come home for a little while. Also, I'm looking forward to a bright future of a great school year.

Day 62: The "Magic" of Live Theater
One of the great joys of working in theater is the fact that it is live, and things can easily go wrong, turn into improv, etc. Tonight this was a huge case and point because during the finale of the show, Mary Poppins didn't fly. One of the times I saw Mary poppins on tour, the kitchen restoration didn't work. With all of the magic, there is more of a chance for things to go wrong but that just makes it more exciting. Actors and sometimes even musicians have to be able to respond to any sudden change quickly during the show and the coolest times is when we can do it without the audience knowing that there was ever a problem. I love this job because live theater can only be practically perfect.

Day 61: Opening Night #4
Mary Poppins opened tonight. Other than a few kinks musically, it went phenomenally. There was probably a technical error too but if so I didn't see it or hear it because I can't see the show. It's the craziest, hardest, and most fun show I've ever played for. However, it's a gigantic beast of a show. There's so much that goes on during the show and lots of energy. The crowd goes crazy after the show stopping number. The cast, the crew, the sets, the costumes, everything is amazing. If you get a chance to come check out where I work and my school and new home, come see Mary poppins. It's practically perfect. Because it's the last show, there is no rehearsal in the morning so I get to sleep in. I'm so excited about sleeping in that I just have one thing to say: supercalifragilisticexpialidocious.

Day 60: Tremendous Tech
Today, I celebrate two months of adventures by having a long, hard day of tech and dress rehearsals. Our technical staff is incredible. They work to the highest level and produce high quality work. They make our shows so successful. They build our sets, sew our costumes, paint, make props, stage manage, hang and shine lights, control mics, etcetera. They can even make people fly. Sometimes techies are under appreciated but without them, musicals would be just a concert with blocking. Thank you to the tech. They made today's rehearsals possible. If you want to see there work live come and see the show. If you can't here are some photos below.

Day 59: tech prep
Tech and Dress Rehearsals for Mary Poppins, the final show of the SSMT season, starts in 8 hours. I am ready to fly a kite, step in time, and be practically perfect with a spoonful of sugar. However, I'm sad that the end of the summer is just around the corner. It will be good to come home to visit though because I got a little homesick today. I'll be too busy the next to be homesick and starting Thursday I'll get to sleep in every morning. Tomorrow I have to wake up early so for now goodnight.

Day 58: The Late Sunday
Sorry that this post is so late, but this is the post for yesterday. It's the same as my Facebook status for the king and I company.
To the cast and crew of The King and I:
Shall I tell you what I think of you? You're outstanding. For my entire life I Have Dreamed of working on the King and I. I never would have thought that I would have been involved in the best production I've ever seen. It really was Something Wonderful. Every night I was so happy when I left that I whistled a happy tune just out of joy and not because I was afraid. It was a great joy to work with Tom Albert who musically was My Lord and Master. Based on several rehearsal experiences it was proven that western people funny. I loved getting to know you and I will miss seeing shall we dance every night. Jenna Pinchbeck was brilliant and Russell Rinker was whippingly powerful. Carolyn Coulson was a brilliant director with Edward Charles Carignan II having choreography that made every audience say that is so cool. I will miss Siam but it is time to fly with Mary poppins into tech, dress, and opening. I tried to get hello young lovers and we kiss in a shadow in there but they didn't fit. Great job everybody. You made my favorite musical brilliant every performance and left me in awe. It was incredible.
I'll post Mondays blog in a few hours.

Day 57: Nine Weeks
I had an epiphany today that nine weeks ago today my adventures began. I have been so blessed with this great opportunity. I have had so much fun this summer, and it saddens me that there are only two weeks left. Although, I will be happy to come home for a few weeks before I start classes. I'm working but I'm doing what I love. I'll study in school what I love. Isn't that amazing? That I can love my job, my education, and my life? I'm blessed. That's all I can say. Nine weeks of friends, music, stress, laughter, parties, performances, food, etcetera, etcetera, etcetera. It will continue these last two weeks and when school starts. I'm blessed and I will have several sets of amazing nine weeks in my future.

Day 55: Stressed with Rest
Adults sometimes talk about a rough day they had at work. Up to this point, I've never had anything that is as real of a job as this and today was a rough day at work. We had a run through today which was rough. There was an orchestra rehearsal that was a chaotic mess because of bad editing in the materials and troubled technology. Also, there are tons of issues with gossip and drama among the theater department. We are a family not a bad game of telephone. Because of the stressful day, I wasted my ticket and didn't go to the king and I tonight because I needed to rest. It helped, but hopefully I'll be able to go back to sleep soon. I have a busy day tomorrow but I'm sure it'll be better than today.

Day 54: Happy/Homesick
I got more cards in the mail today and it's always bittersweet. I feel so happy that someone is thinking of me, but it reminds of me of all the people I'm away from. It makes me a little homesick. I guess every college young adult feels that way at times. I just remember I'll be going home to visit soon and then the school adventures will begin. But for now I have to finish up Mary Poppins. We have a full run through for the tech crew tomorrow and our first orchestra rehearsal. Time to sleep, busy day ahead. Goodnight.

Day 53: Tired Again
I'm too tired to post, but I'm too diligent with my blog not to post. That is all. Goodnight.

Day 52: More Perkins
I had such a busy day today. I had a stressful keyboard rehearsal and laundry day after being abruptly woken up by serious construction and a maintenance knock on my door. Therefore I got practically no sleep last night. When I wasn't doing laundry or keyboard stuff, I was able to sleep some. However most of my day was spent at my favorite restaurant Perkins. I finished the final breakfast meal of the menu to accomplish my quest of eating through the menu. For dinner, I had my favorite thanksgiving meal followed by some awesome luscious lemon cake pie. If you're ever near a Perkins you must go. Or better yet if you want to come visit, see a show and eat at Perkins. Here's an advertisement photo that I took of the pie.

Day 51: Extra-Ordinary Orchestra
All of the shows this summer have had great orchestras. So many talented people join together to make the music come alive. With the king and I score, this is very important because of how beautiful the music is. The orchestra members or more casually called the pit people are truly family. I already had one party with my musical pit family, but tonight we had an epic party. Friendships are starting to form now with get togethers and group activities. This family bond that has developed makes me thrilled and happy, but it's sad to know that it will end so soon. Here's some photos of the orchestra in the pit and at the party. There is also a video of us playing Head's Up. We also played a card game like spoons called burrito which explains why the word burrito is on my arm because I lost very badly.
